If you’re not convinced by the Resident Evil reboot, don’t worry, neither is original star Milla Jovovich.
It was revealed earlier this month that Constantin Film is already working on a reboot of the series, with Aquaman director James Wan on producing duties – despite Resident Evil: The Final Chapter only being released this year.
And once ComicBook.com broke the news to Jovovich about the report, she had a swift response: “Okay, well good luck with that.”

Luckily, she expanded on that with her thoughts on announcing multiple movies in a series before the first one has even been a success.
“I think a lot of people with these franchises kind of put the cart before the horse. There’s a danger to that. They’ve been wanting to reboot Resident Evil for a long time,” Jovovich explained.
“I love the Resident Evil world. I think it’s a great property, I would do it if I was a producer. I think what made Resident Evil so special is that the people involved really loved what they’re doing and really were fans of the game.”
Jovovich added that for the Resident Evil reboot to be a success, she thinks it needs people behind it who are fans of the original gaming series.
“There’s some real fans in the sci-fi/action/horror world, and they’re not idiots. They can smell when something is done because people love it and when something is done just to monetise an opportunity,” she explained.
But if you just can’t wait for the Resident Evil reboot, there is the animated movie Resident Evil: Vendetta to come and a TV series in the works too.
