GameFreak, the developer of Pokémon Sun and Moon has already addressed the whimsicality of this year’s menagerie. We’ll skip over some of the powerful things that go bang in the new trailer. If you fancy spoiling the surprise, you’ll see the Z-Moves for each of the starter Pokémon, along with two new Ultra Beasts (more on those later). The star of the show is undoubtedly Dugtrio’s Alolan form, which shall henceforth be known as Wigtrio.
Apparently the hair is more than just a fashion statement on the part of Dugtrio – it’s a weapon. Alolan Dugtrio’s special attack is Tangling Hair…
Then there’s the two new Ultra Beasts. The first of which resembles a newfangled floor lamp one might find in IKEA. Its name: UB-03 Lighting does little to shake the impression.
The second Ultra Beast is called Glutton, which can mean only one thing: it’s the Digital Spy office spirit animal.

Pokémon Sun and Moon is due to arrive in the US on Friday, November 18, but won’t arrive in the UK until Wednesday, November 23.
Given the popularity of the game’s demo, GameFreak and Nintendo are probably looking at a commercial hit. Who knows how many more bizarre creations will feature in the full game.
