The creators of asymmetric multiplayer shooter Evolve were also the clever clogs to come up with Left 4 Dead. Now that Evolve has ‘died’ in development terms, Turtle Rock is taking the chance to release unseen content for its famous co-op zombie shooter.
Dam It is an unfinished campaign for Left 4 Dead which, rather unsurprisingly, takes place on the grounds of a dam that has been infested with the infected. The story segment actually stitches the chapters Dead Air and Blood Harvest together.

Dam It was never completed or released, and certain features of the campaign chapter aren’t working, but you can play it right now nonetheless.
Turtle Rock provides the following list of things that aren’t quite right:
- Fire, smoke and explosions do not trigger panic events in the hangars.
- Zombies do not crawl all the time in the orchard.
- Farm house mob does not spawn in the far side of the woods.
- Covered bridge does not collapse with explosions.
- Burned forest area is missing wandering fires.
Sounds like a small price to pay for a completely free campaign segment.

Earlier this year Turtle Rock was ordered to cease development on its latest game, Evolve, which has been struggling to find an audience since release. The developer hasn’t stated what it will be working on next, but the Turtle Rock team is known for its highly creative output.
We miss Left 4 Dead, which to our mind, is one of the best cooperative games out there. Valve hasn’t yet revealed what to expect from its next big gaming project, but Left 4 Dead 3 hasn’t been entirely ruled out of the running. Here’s hoping.
