Mass Effect: Andromeda needs YOU in the latest trailer

A new trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda has arrived, teasing a tiny bit more of what to expect from the long-awaited next chapter.

Featuring what appear to be the game’s two playable characters, the male and female Ryder siblings, the trailer’s stirring voiceover tells us that “the time has come to prepare ourselves for a future beyond the Milky Way, a future that begins 600 years from where we stand”.

So that’s new information – the game’s set six centuries in the future (we’re assuming counting from Mass Effect 3).

The voiceover then invites “the brave, the inquisitive, the trailblazers of the human race” to “join the Andromeda Initiative today”.

Clicking through to the Initiative, this essentially means signing up for a mailing list, so those criteria seem a little tough, particularly the trailblazer one.

“The Andromeda Initiative is currently seeking recruits. Registered recruits will be among the first contacted to receive critical mission information, special training opportunities, and will also be eligible for reward upon program completion. Orientation begins Nov. 7,” it reads.

So there you go: sign up and the information will come pouring in from November 7, the annual Mass Effect N7 day.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is expected for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in spring 2017 – with an Amazon listing for Dark Horse Comics’ The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda suggesting a late March release date for the game.
